The BKCR was host to a group of Swedish guests from partner institutions in Borlänge, Sweden. The city is about 200km north-west of Stockholm and home to schools and also a nursing home that have started their co-operation with us in 2015. An exchange of work placement students is about to be launched this year.

The visit also provided interesting insights into working with refugees, because the Swedish and the German way of training for refugees differs significantly. BKCR's refugee class head Roxana Tamm observed that in Sweden, refugees learn working in nursing homes through a three-semester on-the-job training and no obligatory years of school beforehand. She liked this idea that much that she even hoped Germany and the BKCR could adopt this system.
