After two years of radical renovation, the BKCR's building number 6 will be re-opened on April 28, 2014 boasting a state-of-the-art room concept facilitating self-organized and co-operative learning.
Following many months of planning and negotiations with the district, building number 6 - originally built in the 1970s and badly damaged by the windstorm "Kyrill" - started undergoing a massive remodeling in 2012. The BKCR took the opportunity to incorporate a state-of-the-art room concept for state-of-the-art learning concepts.
The new architectural concept works with lots of open spaces, room for co-operative learning and a multitude of learning arrangements - all of which is backed up by the didactic concept of self-organized learning.
Along with that, school life will be improved by a newly-opened cafeteria and spaces for students and teachers to work and zones for relaxing.
Along with building number 6, also three other buildings (number 1, 3 and 5) have been renovated in a smaller scale.
An official celebration with guests from politics and the school community is to be held on June 6, 2014.
