Traffic Safety Day at the BKCR

He had no chance - the Ford Fiesta travelling at 50kph couldn't stop in time and thus smacked right into the bicyclist.

Fortunately, it was only the crash test dummy that was catapulted through the air, just meters away from onlooking students. Several students later said it was much more impressive since it was right in front of them, in 3D.

This demonstration, set up by the German automobile club ADAC, was only one of many attractions at the BKCR's Traffic Safety Day. 37 activities alone were staged by BKCR's own students (partly assisted by the local police), ranging from helmet security to effects of impaired vision.

Furthermore, external organizations brought more hands-on demonstrations. Automobile clubs showed how it feels to hit something in a car, how to free yourself when your car flipped over, how it feels to roll over in your car, how to cut open a crashed car.
